I have no difficulty describing myself as Northern Irish and British. There are many different layers of identity in Northern Ireland. I'm using the phrase Brits to describe the mindset of the IRA at that time. But it's shifted and it's odd in a way because it leaves Northern Ireland as the only place in the UK that has that sort of binary, like you're British and then what?
