The Arts, in a Sense, Are an Escape From the Mondanity of Materialism
The arts, in a sense, really are to some degree. No matter how much we tried toe force them into or secularizing a view of reality,. there is something in the arts which is fanatically obsessed with god. And i think, e i'm not some one who despairs at theito my mind, at least it is part of christian history. A the arts would not have assumed such an important spiritual role if the churches had not failed. I mean, chris christendom is is a history of failure through success, you know.
