Studies show people who get little sleep are at a higher risk of all timers disease, and we can piece together studies to form an explanation. But how much sleep exactly do you need in order to prevent all simers? Epidemi logical studies covering large populations are self reported, so we don't know how much sleep these subjects are actually getting. Researchers have to use self reports, which are unreliable. It's not practical to randomly split up the population into two groups and say, you people sleep a ton, and you people don't sleep more than five hours a night. Oh, and both of you do this for life.
