Preppy is a very disarming way of dressing, right? That it makes you instantly legible, approachable, safe. And yet it's born out of this very exclusive world. Not everybody took it on to look like these people, to look like rich white people. So it weirdly sort of upholds and breaks all the rules of how we think trends work in society. But there are still people who live this life, who like swear on this preppy Bible.
