The Day Trading Game on a Very Short-Term Basis

Algos are very short-term in nature and they try to take advantage of front running a bid or doing whatever short-term price action. But the moment you change your time frame, there is very little to almost no influence of these algos onto whether or not you're going to be right about that prevailing trend. In my old day when I was on the desk, we almost never had V-WAPs. With this new era of algos, what you find is those spikes, the kind of correction almost never happened. You get a spike higher as the algal demands initial liquidity. And then it just kind of grinds higher from there.
