The Disadvantages of a Tenured Professor

A large percentage of faculty members either don't have tenure and are not on a tenure track. Once you have tenure, it's more difficult to fire you than if you do not have tenure. The basic idea that I think everybody agrees on is that a tenured professor who is teaching in his or her field of expertise is allowed to teach whatever their research indicates. And they can't touch me because I've got academic freedom to say anything I want.
