The Enlightenment Project: The Disenchantment of the World

The Enlightenment project is about total domination through knowledge and technology. One of the elements that gets you to the point of sameness is the idea that a project like this requires unity. You can't be different, there can't be any individuals that lie outside of the system. If there's anything outside it has to be appropriated and subsumed underneath some kind of rubric. It's the overarching purpose which stamps them with sameness. The more monumental buildings are buildings that are kind of more utilitarian in structure but they all serve an over arching political purpose - subjugating individual autonomy to capital.
