The Doubleness of Male Female Relationships

Debauvoi says there is a doubleness to male female relationships. Men cannot have their cake and eat it, she writes. They can't have women as natural objects and also sufficiently human and personal that they can make men feel they are among people like them. The two parts of the equation don't reinforce each other - they pull against eah other. She thinks most sexual relationships cause most people misery because they don't give partners what they want.
