The Bi-Dimensional Model of Arousal
James Russell did a very important work on how people perceive other people. What he found is that some non-verbals are consistently interpreted like higher arousal. People who frown their eyebrows and squint their lower eyelids are being perceived as cold and distant and unpleasant. So you could say that what we found is very much in line with what James Russell has done, I would say.
