There are ways of approximating the effects of psychodalics through other means. The most interesting one i came across is something called holotropic breath work. This was devised by stangroft, who was a psychiatrist doing a lot of psychodelich therapy in the sixties. And borrowing from many different traditions, including yogic breathing techniques,. He came up with this way of a inducing a trance state that is very much like psychodelic. I did it once, and i felt like i'd run a marathon when it was over. It was a very intense experience, no drugs involved, whatever. But yes, there are non pharmacological ways to get similar effects
