Hoover and the Bay of Pigs

Mayhew hires a private investigator to go to Las Vegas and wiretap Phyllis McGuire. A maid at the hotel came in and found all their eavesdropping equipment and called the police. The FBI then immediately traced it back to Mayhew and then found out what they were doing Well Mayhew lies at first yeah Mayhew lies because it was for a private client but after the Bay of Pigs fiasco changes his story. Hoover can't even believe it at first and then the CIA then kind of back briefs him and he's like I can't believe you guys are doing what Mayhew calls the CIA and that's right might qualify to cover for me.
