Is Child Care in a State of Market Failure?
The cost of providing the service costs more than people can pay for it. But was it always this way? Has child care always been in a state of market failure? Now it wasn't. During world war too, they basically needed women working in factories to build tanks and shits. Government provided subsidized, safe, quality day care for these women's children. And it also helped with equality, because black women stopped doing domestic lab in white people's homes in droves because they could make better money in factories. We made it work as a country because women in the work force were considered necessary.
