A lot of the sense of autonomy that people have derives from their occupation, derives from the culture and it's a proud one. And when you attack those things by shining a camera in your face because I don't trust you or hooking you up to some hat that's reading your brainwaves all the time,. Of course that is going to have a cumulative effect on the pride that folks feel. That duality, like you put your finger on it very nicely, actually, this rhetoric of freedom versus the reality of this forced hybridization between man and machine is really stark.
