Britain had developed a stable, effective form of government that would soon evolve into the system we know to day. The conditions were right for britain to grow into the paramount power of the nineteenth century. But without good decision making and, maybe more importantly, luck, it might not have happened politically. In the mid seventeenth century, king charles the first tried to arraign the man and rule by absolutist s. He promised to escu absolutism and respect the traditional powers of parliament - he mostly kept his word.
