The Fugue, by Berlios
The joy of a fugue is listening to all the different voices interlocking with each other. Bach was a master of them, as was some one like shostakovitch. But berlios hated writing fugues. As if to mock his professors at the paris conservatory, berlios writes a fugue to go along with this diabolical orgy. It's an ok fugue but my favorite part is at the end of each statement,. The brass enously object as if to say, look how ridiculous all this academic few grating is.
