And so on the VM, I just downloaded Nix portable and then told it to install all net bird and we were done. We could essentially reuse the same box. The data is right there because it's just remounted. So detach that storage, rebuild the box in place with Nix OS using Nix OS and portable Nix and then reattach the storage. This is a great solution for tech debt
