The Power of the Phonetic Alphabet

I started to feel this move from, as you said, pictographic language, which made clear this belonging, right? Um, and origins, um, uh, to the phonetic alphabet, which really was a form of a strange meant for human beings. And slowly, even though those pictograms came to represent concepts more than things, they are still rooted very much in pictures of actual things. So that the whole language, which is also how most of us think, but not all of us crucially, starts to kind of remove itself and become something that refers only to itself and only to the human.
