God's Solution to the World's Problems
Exodus chapter 32 is a well known story that jesus would have grown up reading all through elementary school. The idea here in the story is that the root problem in the world is not lack of access to education, or clean water, or the wrong type of government. It's because the human heart is bent out of shape in the wrong direction. And the rest of the story that we now call the old testament is about god's solution to that problem.
