The sol giants were formed by a bass player named roya strade. He is also someone about whom there's fairly little biographical information. And it's easy to understand why when you realize that he's covently half way through a 25 years sentence for child molestation, his third such conviction. The other member of the rhythm section, jimmy carl black, was an american indian. That's the term he always used about himself until his death and so that's the term i'll use about him too.
