i think having a goal is a huge one, buse. That's a big part of what makes a through hike so rewarding. It's like you're chipping away at one singular goal every single day. And i think a lot of people don't have that in their lives,. The trail fills that gap that we all strive for. Then you get to katadan, and then it's just likell now, and the rugs pulled out from underneath you...you're left with almost nothing.
