Are You Four Women Deacons or Not?

I think we'll all be best served if our prime desire is to follow the clear teaching of scripture, rather than simply to respond by way of either reaction or adaptation. I really don't think that there is a mainstream voice calling on us to abandon complementarianism. Deaconesses in both patristic and reformation era churches assisted the deacons. They were not ordained female deacons. There's just a credible biblical taste it can be made for the ordination of women to the teaching and ruling office of the church.
