Tim Scott's Deficit as a Senator
John Avlon: I don't think Tim Scott's the most talented senator. He's more than sufficient on all of the checklists that I can come up with for his actual qualifications sort of as a politician. What he is basically is just a very decent dude. And as I put it in my column was, he doesn't have potential to be a serious contender for the nomination.Avlon: The problem is that after scaring away a lot of normals and attracting a lot of, no, Trumpists, hold off too many of the pejorative words. They may not be deplorable people. But they are what politics is supposed to deliver for people who vote in primaries
