If you have a strong family history for heart disease, your cholesterol has become that much more important. The good cholesterol grabs the bad cholesterol and puts it into the poop chute to eliminate it. The bad cholesterol is the one that lodges in the arteries. So if we see calcium on this scan, we then understand that you are putting some plaque into the arteries.
