The castles built during Edward's second Welsh campaign are even greater than those of his earlier exploits. From the mighty fortress at Knarven to the soaring turrets overlooking the sea, these are some of the most magnificent fortresses ever constructed in Britain. No British monarch after Edward I will build castles on such a scale ever again. By the time Harlek, Knarven and Conway castles are completed, Llewellyn up Griffith is dead.
