The Medical Model Is Not Just About Disease
Mental health professionals are emulating a false idol. They think the medical model is just about disease, but it's not. When somebody has a sickness, the experience of that sickness is not visible in a microscope. And none of those experiences can be captured in any kind of laboratory test. The idea that somehow the the biomedical sciences, can had the purchase on truth, and the rest of us are just doing interpretations is bogus.
