The Theory of Justice, a Theory of Ignorance
i often recommend that, you know, there are two books people should read together. One is roll's theory of justice, which is a masterpiece. And also, an archy state in utopia, by robert nosick who talks about why we don't need the state at all. i would argue then that i have a mild objection to your phrase about inequality capturing the state. I think the rich capture the state. They are capturing the state because the state has much more power than it should and therefore they can generate more money for themselves. This is a very perverse process. It hams the poor the most and allows the rich to generate moreor wealth for themselves through state coercion
