Where Does Prayer Come From?

The church teaches that this distinction between spirit and soul doesn't introduce a new duality into the soul. The term spirit signifies that from the beginning of creation, like as we're made, human beings are ordered towards a supernatural end. According to scripture, it is the heart that prays. If our heart is far from God, the words of prayer are in vain.
