The Cost of Performance in React

React's value proposition was you declaratively write your UI and effects and React just makes it happen. But in some way, React has kind of been lied to us almost because it doesn't just make it happen. It makes it happen with an unseen cost of performance. I feel like if React executed on its promise of like youdeclaratively write UI and it just happens performantly, then solid or signals wouldn't even have a reason to exist,. which is be describing UI left and right.
