The Only Thing That Stands Out for Me Is the Missing Fathers
Theant is standing in for the father, in a sense. She takes care of the boy because the mother is ill or too weak. But what she should be doing and her relationship to this child are very ambiguous. There's a sense of, like a really isolated family unit,. You don't have the sense that anybody ever goes into that house.
