It's sort of a pastiche of the March of Time, which was a regular newsreel that began on the radio from 1931 on film from 1935. It gallops through all of Kane's life telling you the story. And it does it through faked archive and through real live footage, which are seamlessly into cut. So you get Charles Foster Kane on Hitler's balcony, you get him getting married on the White House lawn,. You get him integrated into a history that the viewers understood.
