John and rick looked at the owners of companies in the m si aqui index, which has around two thousand, 900 constituents. Controlled companies were those where one or more shareholder groups hold 30 % of voting shares. Principal companies are still a big shareholder, but they hold between ten and 30% of voting power. And then the third bucket of companies are widely held.
