DEI and unions do a lot of the same work in the sense that you don't have an organization working towards an initiative that addresses the need of one group or really uplifts everyone. DEI work is fundamentally about resolving inequities through collective power. If that isn't directly overlapping with unions, then I don't know what is. More DEI efforts need to recognize that and support efforts to unionize.
