Kinship in the Workplace

Has kinship continued to be at the heart of anthropology? I know it was there at the beginning of 20th century anthropology but is it something which is now considered central? To some extent it's quite a lot more marginal than it was and I think that's a shame. The idea that kinship is marginal might itself be a reflection of the stories we tell ourselves about modernity in other words that in modern societies kinship is relegated to the nuclear family.
