The Owner's Equivalent Rent Concept Is Coming From the BLS and the VA
There's a lot to unpack there. So maybe let's try and do it into pieces. The BLS and the VA are doing things is that, you know, they have a certain part of the price index that is focused on rents because people rent their houses. They want to kind of have a measure of what the imputed cost of owning of basically using your home is going to be. And so that's where this owner's equivalent rent concept is coming from statistically. It could potentially be some measure of house prices. That's not exact. But it could be that.
