Fantasy Worlds That Deal With Change

I love fantasy worlds that deal really explicitly with change, and with kind of civilizations coming into contact with each other. Sometimes you read fantasy, I think especially sometimes with high fantasy and sort of sorcery fantasy, where it feels like the world has always been that way. But I really gravitate toward reading and creating worlds that feel like they have a history, but that they're also going somewhere.
