The Inquest Report
The inquest report cites that in the 1970s, the Supreme Court of Canada ruled that high levels of inflation could constitute a national emergency. The Canadian Civil Liberties Association launched a judicial review precisely because we believe that would be the best venue to test the government's claims about the legality of using the Emergencies Act. "I have like zero doubt that this is going to be hold out for the next Indigenous blockade, the next land-back protest," Zia says.
