Lawrence of arabia was an intriguing figure. He understood the opportunities to drive a wedge between the arabs and the turks, and he did it in his own way. His contribution has been magnified because of the dramatization the play that thomas put on, and then the film, an excellent film. But i if you actually examined it historically, as you, you know, my father would, and you would, i think, and i in my own amateurish way, i don't think lawrence had, i think he understood the arab world perfectly.
