The Death of the Queen and the Elevation of King Charles
This is the weekend of the coronation. It seems to me that this kind of hereditary principle so celebrated and elevated actually is a stifling, guiding principle for Britain. And here we all are subjects to these people who inherit these privileged positions. And it's all wrong. I think it's also slightly depressing, to be honest, for a country to be seen as brilliant at staging these great ceremonial events steeped in a way in the past. But can't run a modern train service struggles to deal with health provision,. Can't properly clean the streets or deal with crime.
