Using Clinical Reasoning in Manual Therapy
The first step is understanding how you plan to manage a patient and then looking at each patient individually. I do look early in clinical reasoning management approach at whether the person is pain adaptive or not. Pain adaptive means they respond very well to movements during your clinical assessment approach. They don't seem to have all of these overlays that are related to central sensitization disorders or non-pain adaptive disorders. All of that is packaged into my clinical recent process, so it's often borne out from my treatment of what types of movements seem to be pain modulatory.
