What Is the Self and Identity?

The traditional way the western world has thought about the concept of the self and identity. To a post modernist, this hall mark of western thought doesn't exist when it comes to identity. The self that you identify as, who you are is a fixed thing. And to believe that it does is an outdated, naive way of looking at it.
