How to Improve Your Self-Improvement

Some skills are difficult or impossible for humans to learn, but mathematical models can do them. As machine learning advances and more data become available, i suspect we will develop more of these machine human hybrid skills. What are the practical implications for self improvement? My general advice remains, do the thing you're trying to get good. But there are useful considerations to keep in mind.
