Using a Learner-Generated Framework
In the book I talk about three different frameworks for this and I'll just share one of them with you today that I think's probably the most kind of transferable. The framework is called give an example off, it works well on mini whiteboards but it's fine on books as well. What you're trying to do here is find the boundary of their knowledge how far can they push their knowledge in this case equivalent fractions without tipping over into something that isn't equivalent so will they involve in maths? It allows the kids to be creative it allows to engage in paired discussion we get a whole class discussion out of mathematics.
