Plato's Influence in Sicilian Politics

Diogenes says plato criticized the way that the tyrant dionysius was running his city. The tyrant became irate, as tyrants tend to do and settled for having him sold into slavery. Plato hoped to persuade this young tyrant to adopt philosophy and rule with justice rather than through violence and fear. But he's always happy to speak up for plato, so i say we should commend him for trying to put his theories into practice.
