Philip Johnson and Diego Rivera
Philip Johnson, who went on to have an illustrious career as an architect, was the first director of the architecture department at the Museum of Modern Art. He eventually left MoMA to work for governor Huey P. Long of Louisiana and radioed Demagogue and priest Father Charles Coughlin. As you write, he celebrated a kind of Eurocentric, even Nazi modernism against the kind of modernism that Diego Rivera explored in his own work.
