The Word Sovereign Has a Connotation in the Church

Sovereign has a connotation in the church realm that you can't find in the dictionary. Nothing happens outside of the person who is sovereign. More christians subscribe to that than probably anything else. It totally neutralizes faith. If god is one that controls everything, if nothing can happen without his permission, and it all works together, we then there's no reason to submit to some things and resist the other.
