Spite houses have a kind of edward hopper ska quality to them, but probably betray a more alienating environment. What's interesting is the way these these narratives inscribe themselves into the fabric of the city. The conditions around a building can change radically through history. And i think we look at things now with ist how they would have ben up to 50 years ago.
