The idea of being soft on crime versus being hard on crime is very much in the political zeitgeist as to showing what you think about crime in your city. New York has been under a microscope for a long time. The government should not have access to like, I mean, I don't understand how this stuff works technologically, but it would mean that all our faces are somehow recorded somewhere.
