The southern United States contains still generations of people who were the only Americans to lose a war on their own land. When you feel shame other people think I'm stupid whatever it is ironically it makes me more vulnerable to authoritarianism, says John Kinney. Through our intentional actions and tone and our unintentional including mine we can be contributing to a different kind of humanity for better or worse going forward.
