The Job of Art Is to Dissolve the Distinction Between the Sacred and the Profane

In order to do real spiritual work, you have to come back to not only the body, but to the entire range of affects that socialized versions of spirituality usually marginalized. Jesus used to hang out with the horrors and he wasn't afraid to go into those spaces. As long as it seems to us that there is a fundamental distinction between the sacred and profane or that we're devoted to one rather than the other, then we're not quite tantric in the sense of the generative reciprocal entanglement form of Tantra.
