In 19 21, a young innuit woman named ada blackjack joined four explorers on an arctic expedition to wrangele island. When a scheduled supply ship failed to ride the following summer, she and the men found themselves without enough food to make it through the winter. Three of the men left to make the treacherous journey across the frozen ocean to get help. Black jack stayed behind on wrangle with lorn knight, the group's leader, who was sick with scurvy. Despite black jack's best efforts to care for knight, died in june 19 23. Now black jack was alone on rangal. She had no idea when or if help would arrive. To survive
